HEDUA Post: Beware Homeschool Dads

0514.BewareHSDads

Have you heard that punctuation matters? The same is true of the title. It could be “Beware! Homeschool Dads!” or it could be “Beware, Homeschool Dads!” The first would mean to beware because there are homeschool dads. You know, like “Watch out! Dog poop!” The second set of punctuation would mean for homeschool dads to watch out like “Watch out, Waldo!”

This article will mention both.

Thoughtful Thursday--Because I'm happy...not.

I'm sure most of you have heard the song "Happy" by Pharrell Williams. It was featured in Despicable Me 2 and had spread like wild fire ever since.

It's a catchy little number that makes you want to "clap along."

But apparently I am the only person in the whole world who has any issues with the song. (The Iranians were arrested for the women dancing in public and with their heads uncovered, not because of the song.)

I mentioned to mija that there was one little phrase that bothered me. She wanted to know which one it was, but I didn't tell her. I wanted to see if she could figure it out.

She came back to me about a week laterand said, "I think I know the phrase. I think it's...
Yup, that's it.

Happiness is NOT the truth. Jesus told us, "Thy (God) word is truth" (John 17:17).

That may seem like a little thing, but we also know from Scripture, "A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump" (Gal. 5:9). It only takes a little thought to corrupt a whole belief system.

I'm proud of mija putting her critical thinking skill to the test and figuring out what I didn't like and why. She's still not sure that it's that important, but that part will come with maturity.

So, what popular song irks you?

Saving at CVS and using SavingStar

I'm back. God blessed us with a new-to-us laptop.

Haven't couponed much lately but made a good deal yesterday.

CVS is offering Dial Body Wash as B1G1 Free.
There's a coupon in 6/15 Red Plum for Buy 2 Get 1 free.
Then on top of that, Ibotta is offering a $1 back on Dial Body Wash, $1 back on Dial for Men, AND a special Dial Clean bonus of $1 for redeeming any two of the Dial rebates.

Here's what my final deal looked like:

I purchased 3 Dial Body Wash at $5.99 each (much more than I would normally pay!)
Total         17.97
B1G1       - 5.99
                11.98
B2G1       - 4.49 (maximum amount for coupon)
                 7.49
Ibotta     - 3.00
Final          4.49

Final price for each body wash: $1.50 each.

Now that's a deal! Have you made any deals lately! Please share!

This post includes an affiliate link. If you join Ibotta, I will make a little additional cash. I wouldn't recommend it if I didn't use it or trust it.
