Had to run to the "big city" today, so I made sure I did a quick CVS and Walgreen run. I mean quick and small. I picked out the few items that were the very best deals and what we needed.
Paid less than $4 for these items for a 85% savings.
What really surprised me was there were no rebates on my apps for any of these things! But here's a coupon for the Irish Spring Body Wash.
Tomorrow I'm heading to Dollar General with my $5 off $25 coupon. I'm going to be getting some Rachel Ray Cat food for only $2 a bag!
I didn't go to CVS this week because there really wasn't much there I wanted! So, I decided to use this week to get back on the Walgreens bandwagon.
I used Kansas City Mamas for the deals.

My retail on these items would have been $19.74 before sales and coupons. I paid $9.15 OOP (out of pocket). That's a savings of 54%. Then I received $7.25 back in Register Rewards which made my final price $1.90 which is a savings of 90%.
I love thinking about how I spent $0.10 for what the next person spent $1.00!
For any of you familiar with my disdain of the Walgreen Rewards program that some areas (like mine) have been trying, you will understand my rejoicing.
Good News from Kansas City Mamas, the test market is coming to an end!!!
Here's what they report:
This has been confirmed by multiple sources.
If you have any points from the Walgreens Rewards Program, get them cashed in and spend them because..
On January 31, 2012, the testing period of “Rewards Points” will be OVER and we will back to the regular Walgreens Register Rewards.
That means no more confusion. Better deals. More Register Rewards. And more shopping (for me anyway) at Walgreens.
Now, I believe AFA is calling for a boycott of Walgreens because they aren't use the word "Christmas" in any of their advertisements.
Make your choice about shopping their during the "Holiday" season, but the removal of their rewards program is a great New Year's resolution!
