I've still been exercising...and more

PraiseMoves: The Christian Alternative to Yoga, DVD -
        By: Laurette Willis

A couple of weeks ago, I posted about exercising. I mentioned that I had been using PraiseMoves: The Christian Alternative to Yoga, DVD
What was really cool was that Laurette Willis herself commented on my post! Go read it. I wait here for you to come back!

Well, I'm still at it. I've been averaging about three times a week.

Yes, I have been noticing a difference. My body feel much looser. Not so tight. Also, I've been getting down and up from the floor more. Not easily mind you, but down and up. I had gotten to the point of fear of getting down on the floor that I may not be able to get up. Well, I've been getting up without fear.
That's probably a foreign concept to most of you, but it is what it is.

Mija continues to do it with me for PE credit. She has been really enjoying it.

I've also being tracking my food on My Fitness Pal. It's similar to Weight Watchers online except it's free. I have definitely noticed a challenge to stay on goal on those days that have been extremely stressful. It makes me see all the times I go for comfort instead of the Comforter.

In case you want to join me on My Fitness Pal, my "code name" is mrspriceisright. I know. Very original. ;-)

5 Weeks, 5 Disciplines, 5 Challenges--Week 2

Last week, she started with the body. My goal was to record my eating daily at MyFitnessPal. I'm still looking for more friends, so check out the post and look me up at MyFitnessPal. I have recorded each day since Wednesday when I started and I was only over my calories one day. Okay, I did increase my calories after that, so I wouldn't go over again, but it's still making a difference.  See for yourself.
Now, on to this week. Time management. Read about it HERE.

Here's Courtney's challenge this week.

So, there's not much decision in this one. Write down and pray about your priorities. Write out the list. Every morning, pray over list and adjust accordingly. Repeat!  You can go to here site if you'd like to use her To-Do list.

Here's also some additional sources for schedules and calendars:

5 Weeks 5 Disciplines 5 Challenges--MyFitnessPals Unite!!

Courtney at Women Living Well is starting a new series: 5 Weeks 5 Disciplines   5 Challenges. The five disciplines are going to be mind, body, spirit, work and time. She is starting with body.

I mentioned in a previous post that I was working on losing weight. I had actually lost 9 lbs at the writing of the post but then gained some during the week of my step-father's death and funeral. I haven't weighed or logged into MyFitnessPal since then.
During the past few weeks I have returned to my limitless, uncontrolled eating, so I'm dreading what I'm going to see when I step on the scales this morning. I need to return to working on it at least.
So my healthy habit that I would like to work on over the next 5 weeks is to sign in daily to MyFitnessPal and record my food. I'm not going to give a specific weight to lose, I just want to be disciplined in eating. If I do that, the rest will come.
Would you like to take part in the series? If so, why don't you leave a comment below about what healthy body habit will you work on in the next 5 weeks?  Also, I'm always more than willing to have more friends at MyFitnessPal! Join up and be my friend. Make sure I stay true to this challenge. Everyday for the next 5 weeks. That would be through Tuesday, May 15. I'm mrspriceisright on the site.

Weight loss and Home Education

I've been working on losing weight. I've been using My Fitness Pal. It's been really handy and easy. I've been doing it for almost a month.
Home education, however, is not that conducive to losing weight. Just check out my posts from last week.
We made cookies for Purim. Hamantaschen.
Cooking is a great learning opportunity. The recipe we used only made about two dozen cookies which would have been enough to have a few and share the rest if you aren't weight-loss challenged like I am. We did end up saving a few to give to our pastor, but most went to our family. I'll say family instead of "me." You'll never know the truth since the evidence is gone!

Then we did the cool moon phases using Oreo cookies.
Now if my hubby had picked up regular Oreos, it wouldn't have been a problem. I don't like Oreos. Instead, he purchased a generic brand that had chocolate Oreo-type cookies and the golden Oreo-type cookies. They are the ones with the vanilla wafer instead of the chocolate wafer. Those are addicting. All that to say that the moon phases were good and the golden Oreo cookies were even better!
Even with those sacrifices I made because for mija's education, I've managed to make some progress.
One of the things I've been doing is trying to get some more walking in my day. For someone my size, walking is about the extent of what I can do! Leave it to mija to help me out. After church on Sunday, my husband said he would get the van and pick us up at the door. Mija stated for everyone to hear, "Why don't we just all walk to the van, so Mommy can get more exercise and loose more weight." Nothing like accountability whether you ask for it our not!
Oh, if you're on My Fitnes Pal, let me know if you'd like to be my friend. I'm mrspriceisright, of course!
