Christmas Goodies Are Finally Underway

I shared a couple of days ago a couple of new recipes we were going to try this Christmas. Today we made our first.  We made Peppermint Pretzel Melts.  It was soooo easy and soooo pretty!

First you put out the square pretzels on a pan with waxed paper.

Then you put a Hersey's Peppermint Kiss on each one.  We actually found ours at Save-a-Lot, but Target and Walmart has them as well.

They go into a 170 degree oven for about 5 minutes until the kisses are soft but not melted!  That's when the Christmas M&Ms go on.

After chilling in the fridge for about 5-10 minutes, we had our finished goodies!

Aren't they so festive!?!  Our first batch (above) looked better than our second batch because the second batch got a little too "melty" before pulling them out of the oven.  They're still pretty and no one would know the difference!

There were two benefits from this recipe.  First, mija learned the difference between something being "hard" and something being "tedious."  ;-)
Second, NO DIRTY DISHES!!!  There was nothing to mix and since wax paper was used, the pans are clean.

Oh, and a third benefit was making fun Christmas memories and sharing previous Christmas memories of my childhood.  That one is probably the best!

(Although no dirty dishes is pretty good!)
