New Year's Review instead of Resolution

I had to steal this picture from my friend Cindy at For One Another!  It was just so on the mark!

I don't do resolutions. I even wrote about it on New Year's Day this year.

But I thought I'd share one thing I do to start the new year.  I use a wonderful set of questions written by Don Whitney of The Center for Biblical Spirituality.  It's written as a bulletin insert, so it fits really well in your Bible.

It's called Ten Questions to Ask at the Start of a New Year or On Your Birthday.  I do one every day for the first 10 days, but you can do them all on one day.  Then there is an additional 21 questions if you want to take it further.  So, I tend to do one question for each day in January and then review it through out the year.

Here's an example of some of the questions:
  • What is the single biggest time-waster in your life, and what will you do about it this year?
  •  What single thing that you plan to do this year will matter most in ten years?  In eternity?
  •  What’s one thing you could do this year to enrich the spiritual legacy you will leave to your children and grandchildren?
You get the idea.
So, if you would like to join me this year to “Consider your ways!” (Haggai 1:5) just go HERE and scroll down to the title.

I think we need to give credit to bengallagher.com for that pic. ;)

Sound like those questions get right to the core...ugh!
