So Artistic!! So Graphic!!

We've been doing some art and graphing, and mija wanted me to share some of it with you.

Last week was Pablo Picasso's birthday.  We read Picasso (Getting to Know the World's Greatest Artists)by Mike Venezia.  It was a great book with colorful pictures and basic information about the artist and his works.  The humor and cartoon-like drawings helped to draw mija into it.

Yesterday, we finally got around to making our booklet about Picasso.  We got the booklet and idea for which book to use from Confessions of a Homeschooler.  She has a great selection of printables including one entitled World’s Greatest Artists Vol 1. 

It was actually pretty cool to make it a week later.  It showed mija actually recalled what she learned about Picasso.

Yesterday, we also made Potato Pumpkin Patch Prints!  I got the idea from Craft Gossip.  We did the paint part yesterday and did the stem and vines today.

Lastly, we started discussing graphs yesterday in math.  We thought it would be timely to make a graph about candy!  We posted a question on my FB page and offered 3 choices: Smartees, candy bars, and Mike N Ikes.

Today, "we" completed the graph.

We used Nerds as our counters!  Another way to use up candy!  Don't just graph it, but graph with it!
