Thankfulness: to Tree or not to Tree

I've seen a lot a new ideas for thankfulness this month.  Here in the KC area, some are doing a "pay it forward" every day.  I've also seen friends on Facebook sharing something for which they are thankful each day for their status.

Then I ran across Heather Laurie's FB status.  She started mentioning a "thankfulness tree".  It was driving me crazy!  I wanted to know what a thankfulness tree was!  I wanted to know now!!

THANKFULLY she posted it on her blog!  She makes a paper tree on the wall then everyday, each family member makes a leaf listing something for which they are thankful or copies a verse about thanksgiving.

Check out her blog to see what she's doing.

Of course, "leaf" it to me.  I couldn't wait to find out what/how Heather was doing her thankfulness tree!  I had to figure out something for us to do!

Soooooo, I went out on a LIMB and came up with our own form of thankfulness tree.

I pictured our tree in 3D, therefore we went out to find a limb. I had wanted one that was bare, but only found one with leaves since the tree trimmer guys were around here on Monday and cleaned up after themselves!

Additionally, mija had lamented not having a door decoration like our neighbor had.  So we taped our leafed limb to the front door!

I hadn't seen how Heather did her leaves yet, so we colored some leaf clip art and wrote on those.

But that wasn't enough!  No, I was too impatient.  I wanted more color.  Enter art time.  We collected some leaves, did leaf rubbings, cut them out, and put those up as well!

Here's what it looks like after two days.

However you choose to do it, how about growing a thankfulness tree?
